Post #17, is that not W11 in the upper left?
I need a little help/advice
It does look like W11, but I also agree, it doesn't look to be in the correct place on the tag.
The reason I'd asked the original question is because my car doesn't have a trim tag (it rusted out) or a data sheet, and I'm working to create a new tag. Everything was easy to decode on the car, based on the options it has, but it also has a few options that I don't think would normally be on a tag (cigar lighter J15, ashtray light L15, front/rear bumper guards M85), (it also has an R11 radio, which I've seen included and not included on trim tags). And the wheel covers are the biggest mystery, since wheels typically get swapped out over the years.
The factory choices for the wheels/covers for a '71 slant six Demon would be either the standard poverty caps, or the option W11 Deluxe wheel covers. And for a car built before mid-March 1971, the wheels would be painted body color with poverty caps, or semi-gloss black with deluxe wheel covers. My car was built before mid-March 1971 and has black wheels, so the assumption is that it originally came with W11 wheel covers. But I was hoping for more clues, than an assumption on the hubcaps. I know I could look at the date codes on the wheels when the tires get replaced, and they may add some clues as to if the wheels are original to the car, which I think they are....
