Decoding engine vin

Found numbers on block MH340R 38290158. Spent about three hours looking at site after site, and still don't know any more now, than when I started!!! What the heck do they mean!?!?!?!

How to ID a Small Block Engine Block:

That is the engine serial number. The partial VIN is on the passenger side, down low.

M - Engine Assembly plant
H - Series (model year) 1972
340 - 340 cid
R - Regular fuel recommended.
3829 - Engine final assembly date from the 10,000 day calendar - Jan 21, 1972
0159 - 159th engine assembled at the plant above on the date above.
