No, the Scamp was never intended as a performance platform during its production run. Nor was the Valiant. Too bad, Scamps are badass and so are Valiants

I would assume a 4-speed was optional, but I'm not 100% sure. I will guarantee that some were built with a 3-speed stick though because I own one.
