Yesterday morning it was snowing here again. I decided to go out and plow the driveway. Went to put the cell phone in my breast pocket and missed. The phone hit the floor and now the screen is dead. I went out plowing and got about half the driveway done and the rack for the plow folded up like a tent. It was one of the light plows and was 25 years old. I suspect it was metal fatigue. In any case I had to get a new plow. I start looking around and the only one I can find is 75 miles away. Off I go to get it. Piece of cake and head for home.Get home and start assembling the plow and rack. Took about 3 1/3 hours. This morning I go out and start taking the old plow attachment off of the truck. Everything is going well until I try to get the last piece off. It is stuck on by friction. It must have shrunk a little in the cold. I am prying on this thing and all of a sudden it lets go. It came off like a spring and nailed me right between the blinkers. This is a 20 lb piece of steel. Yes it hurt and no I did not get knocked out. Bled all over the place but I did manage to get it stopped. No stitches required. This was a bad 24 hours for me. So be careful out there guy's, it can happen at any time.
The new plow is on and ready to be used after this blizzard is over.
