Hey there! Been a long time since I have posted in here. Well I posted a long time ago about my 1974 Dodge Dart Custom 4 Door w/ a dealer optioned Nissan SD33 straight 6 diesel. Just picked up ANOTHER 74 Diesel. This one is a Plymouth Duster with the same SD33 Diesel. I’m very excited to clean it up and get it into some shoes with my other Dart.
Considering the engines have been kind of hard to come by, I have made a hobby out of searching for them and at this time, I have 10 engines in total- one in my 74 Dart, one in my 74 Duster, one in my 86 Jeep Cj10a Aircraft tug, one in my 82 Jeep Cj10a Aircraft tug, and then 6 spare engines. I have recently started an Instagram and Facebook account under @thesd33garage for those interested to follow along! Thanks!

I had the turbo version in an International Scout. Made like 4 or 5 more hp than the NA version if I remember correctly. Right around 103hp. If your looking for SD33s, try old airport tuggers

That is very cool I never knew anything like that existed

This is amazing! I never knew these ever existed! What were the transmission options? What are options for transmissions if you want to steal one from an airport tug (I am assuming the airport tug trans would be useless)

You may be on to something there....makes perfect sense

Do you happen to know production numbers? They've gotta be low.

They all seem to be mated to 727 torqueflites. I have two airport tugs with the same engine/trans combos. So all together, I have 4 complete sd33 Nissan diesels mated to 727 Torgueflites. Along with my spare parts engines I have

Over on the Swedish Dart forum there’s a discussion about some of the Spanish Bsrreios (darts) that came equipped with Diesels
