Hi there guys. I am from New Zealand and have a 1973 Dart Swinger with a 360/904/7.25 and I am currently swapping the rear to an A-body 8.75.
I am having a bit of tr4ouble regarding brake offsets. My 7.25 is 51.4" housing width with 10 x 2"(maybe 2.5") brakes and BBP, the 8.75 is 52 5/8 housing width and 10 x 1 3/4" brakes and SBP( axle flange to flange the same). I have talked to DR DIFF regarding new axles with BBP and brake offset etc. He says that my brakes are the same as B-body ones to work with the slightly longer axles (1/4"). I have measured all my parts and cant see that it will work with my big brakes. Has anyone got any helpful info.
Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that you have a later 7.25 and an early 8.75. The BBC axles are .25" longer than the SBC axles. If you knock the wheel studs out of your SBC axles and install your current 7.25 brakes (backing plates to drums) on the 8.25 differential- you will see that the drum is sitting a 1/4" away from your SBC axle. The longer BBC axle would give you a perfect fit.
Dr Diff carries the axles you need.
