I am confusing myself (that isn't hard) regarding the Holley 1920 Carb.

Mine ('72 Ply Scamp) looks like the Figure 2 of this page:

[ame="http://u225.torque.net/cars/SL6/docs/Holley_1920_Manual.pdf"]http://u225.torque.net/cars/SL6/docs/Holley_1920_Manual.pdf[/ame]

but several of the 1920 carbs I have found for sale look like the figure 4 of the same page.

Specifically, I have a fuel bowl vent tube on mine. Some of the 1920 appear to be missing this. Is there a year that the vent tube was added? Are there other differences among different years of the Holley 1920?

Any explaination or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Look up slantsixdan here or on www.slantsix.org
He will be able to give you a 10 page thesis on every carb ever used in a slant six.

EDIT: Nevermind, I might be talking out my behind... now looking at those 2 figures, I'm confused.

The bowl vent tube came into play when the Charcoal canister for emissions started around 1971-72.

Aren't fig 1-4 all photos of the same carbureter from different sides? Unless you want to look original, a later bowl vent type should work fine on an earlier car, just plug the vent w/ a hose & cap.

So I'm trying to learn and keep doing internet searches about this silly one barrel carb. I now think there are at least four different 1920 models. The fuel bowl vent was added '71-'72 and more changes in '73 as seen in these pictures. To keep all my current hose connections I will need to find another '72 model.

your making this alot harder than it needs to be...

in 73 they added a port, green arrow, for EGR.

early 70's they added the bowl vent, if you plug it it will still work no different than any other 1920.

blue is for the dizzy and you can plug the rest

Don't get mad at the guy for asking. I find no answer to the questions at the slantsix link, and the 1920 manual linked there doesn't explain the orange hose above. They do show another "air cleaner vaccum" port, but smaller and on the other side. I saved the photos, so thanks for posting. I recall seeing the Holley 1920 pop up in an ebay search for some non-Mopar cars too.
