I am looking for a holder to hold the pumpkin out of my 8 3/4 rear end while I set up the new 3.55 gears...Something like what a shop would use..I just dont know where to find one. Something I can stick in my engine stand and rotate the diff when necessary. All I have now is a workbench to set the diff on. It moves all over when you try to work on it.

Why not build one yourself?
That's what i'm going to do, i took mine apart yesterday and was just thinking about the same thing.

Like said above, you could make it. I made a simple one out of two pieces of angle iron bolted to a bench, half of which is hanging over the side. You then bolt the carrier into the slots in the angle. You can remove it when you're finished. Worked for me.

couple of peices of allthread and some nuts works pretty well.

Just thinking aloud: What if you took an old 8 3/4 housing, cut the back off of it, then maybe shorten one axle tube and cut the other side off..then set up the existing shortened axle tube to go into the engine stand? I can see this in my "mind's eye" but I don't have pics.
