disc brake swap turn full resto

I should have grabbed the air cleaner from the car that the Holley 1945 came off of. I didn't relize the air cleaner from the bbs wouldn't fit right. That 225 is only going to be in until I get my 71 360/727/8.75 done. I order my hellwig 55906 sway bar today but wont go on till its realigned. I plan to change the filter to the metal one because I don't like the discoloration.

My new washer bottle will be in Saturday and I will be looming my wires in a 1400 deg nylon braded loom instead of the split plastic. I think the little things like that will really make it look nice.

Got my new hellwig sway bar in yesterday. can't wait to get it installed. I got the wiring, tranny lines, radiator, and fan back in today. As soon as my master cylinder bushing comes in I can finish up the brakes. Then its off to my buddy Dans for more body work. (sorry no pics)

Got the old sixer going today along with looming the wires and tried bleeding the brakes but got some air trapped in it.

Excellent looking good man. Keep up the great work.

thanks, some of my other plans are to upgrade the headlights with the spst relays and aluminum box that will be mounted under the battery and the rest of my loom showed up yesterday. I cant wait to get the rest of the body work done and finally painted. progress has been very slow as of late but I go back to nights on monday so hopefully it will pick back up.

The last time my car will be in this shop.

Got to dans and started tearing into the rear.

All the bumper bolts were so badly rusted that I had to torch both the bumper bolts and bracket bolts off. Didnt damage the brackets or bumper but the front and rear bumper need to be recromed anyways.

Great work, looking good! The mineral gray is a good looking color and will look nice on your car. I was actually looking for a duster or a two door valiant when I found my car, I really like the look of the 67-9 valiants.

Thanks ralphie361

Its good to have friends that know how to do this stuff. Monday were doing the front part of the passenger quarter then the rear cross member, Tue will be the driver quarter and trunk extension and Friday will be sub frame connectors and fill in the trim holes if we stay on schedule.

Thanks 340sfastback Im very happy with the way it turned out and cant wait for the body work to be done. My buddy dan thinks we can get all the body work done by the end of aug. I hope he is right. Monday Im going to call someone to pull the front and rear glass. Not sure if im going to pull all the side glass but I do want to pull the 1/4 vent windows.

If you plan to replace the front and rear glass weather stripping you can just take a razor to it and the glass will come right out.

Okay so now we are a day behind because of more unexpected rust. but best to do it right.

This is what set us back another day.

Got most of the rust cut out except for a small patch to be done on the inside wheel tub.

Had to disect the whole salavaged quarter of mine to get the replacement piece but it was well worth it. Even let my buddy Justin weld it in whos never welded before. He was rather nervous but I told him "this car is what were using it to learn how to do this stuff so get over here and pull the trigger".

Getting Justin in on the fab side of things

His first time laying down some welds

Not bad for his first patch job. little more grinding to do.

Nothing beats welding while you're laying on a carpet..... rofl.
Keep going man it's coming together.

I got a little bored tonight so I took my gas tank to work and spent 5 hours grinding all the visable under coat (there was ALOT) then shot it with a rust reformer then a couple coats of light metallic silver.

I'm truly inspired by the work you are getting done. I guess I have to get my *** moving.lol I know when I did my fuel line (3/8) I got it from inline tubing co. All stainless it fit good but not exact had to cut a piece out like 1 1/2 inch where it came down in front of the rear tire.

What model of car was the line intended for? One of the venders said I need one for a dart but that doesn't sound right. Maybe duster.

I ordered my 3/8" fuel line for a 70-72 duster today from the right stuff off eBay $80 shipped. Ordered the fuel line clips and a few little things.
