Disconnecting column shifter from trans?

I am planning on pulling stock stock 318 and 904 trans out of my duster between xmas and new years. I have been disconnecting and removing everything around the engine. This is the first time for me pulling a motor and trans. I would like to pull both at the same time. i drained the fluid out of the trans already, but the pan back on.

My question is how do I disconnect the shifter from the trans? Is that from inside the trans? I think I have everything else just about apart, but need to figure out how to properly disconnect the shifter. I am going to convert to floor shift when I put it all back together.

loosen the bolt that clamps the arm to the shaft and pull it off (yellow arrow). Follow the linkage up, disconnecting and disassembling as you go.

Thanks for the picture. I will have to crawl underneath there later today and check it out... I kind of figured there must be sometime up there holding it together...
