ok so I want to switch to bbp front disks (gotta match the soon to be bbp of the rear). I've been scrounging the parts yards and the only pre 90 mopars i could find are a 88 d50 and a couple old vans. Are there any non mopar cars that i can use to make parts fit? I'm really not tryin to spend over $500 on a "kit". At that point I would rather just rebuild my drums and weld my 7 1/4.

I have heard that mustang spindles will bolt onto lbj control arms. Anyone have first hand experience on that? Anyone have any other thoughts that might work? And I just so happen to have plenty of time to sit in the junk yard with a measuring tape i'm just not 100% sure on what i should be looking for.

P.S. I currently DD my 73 Dart Custom so I kinda don't have opportunity to tear it apart and measure everything. And I don't plan on starting to tear it apart until i have everything I "think" I will need.

I never heard of non-Mopar parts working, and hard to imagine that. Many people have used FMJ spindles (Aspen, Volare, ...) and a few have used B-body spindles. I think getting used spindles and UCA's mailed to you is the best option. You can get new tubular UCA's if you want the look and pay for it.

Maybe keep scouring Craigslist for parts cars. I know the 73+ stuff is getting scarcer on the ground, but it's out there. You might be able to source something and beat $500, even shipped.

So my right rear wheel bearing started making noise on my way to work and on the way home it was grinding and popping. Should i repair or hit up the parts yard for a 8.8? Can i run rear disks with drums up front until i figure out my disk conversion? It should work with a correct mc and adjustable proportioning valve?

go 8.25 will have BBP and jeep rear discs bolt on to the housing. some have 3.21 ratios

Installing a wheel bearing is an afternoon job that'll cost a few bucks. Installing an 8.8 is a gonna take days (at least) and cost hundreds. Would be an easy decision for me.

As far as the disks, FMJ stuff is pretty easy to find.

Spindles and rotors from ANY of these cars will work. Mid eighties 5th ave's and Diplomats are always in the yards around here.
