Do/did "Bodies in White" have VIN stampings?

Just wondering if those Mopar offerings had a VIN, and if so how they would have been coded? I am referring to the old factory sponsored program, not the E-body only that shows up in the following link:

I seem to remember reading that they had mnfr ID markings/stampings (to track which race teams/builders they originally went to) but no traditional VIN stampings.

VIN #'s came in the 80's.... those early cars did not have any serial numbers or I'd plates... at least not any of the cars I've seen that came out of the Petty or Ray Nichels shops.
