Do I have to remove the gas tank to change sending unit and filler gasket? I'm not sure where the sending unit is located but if I don't have to drop tank that would be a bonus !!!!!It is in a 1965 Dodge Dart 270 Convertible......

I dont think you need to remove the tank

the sending unit should be in front of the tank
need to have less 1/4 full tank and you are good to go

It will make it misserable if you do not take it down , you have to get the lock of the top of the tank unhook fuel lines , and a power line for the gauge .Iwould run it very low on gas , put a jack under tank , let it down enough to get your lines and power wite , then take it to the ground , then you can work at it without swearing, much easier.

All I have is a 66 FSM. It shows the sender in the front of the tank. If so, should not need to pull tank

You do not need to drop the tank.
First make sure tank is close to empty.
Put a jack under the rear end center section.
Jack the car up close to the top of your jack stands.
Put jack stands on each side of car, where the front of the leaf spring attaches to the body.
Lower car onto jacks.
Slowly lower the jack/rear end until the sender is visible. Plenty of room to work.
There you have it.

Ps: Be very careful not to make any sparks when removing the lock ring for the sender.
There is a tool to help you remove it. If you use a punch, use a brass punch.
Just take your time, and no sparks.
