For anyone that has these brakes what is your method to getting the pads to stay in place while trying to put the slider in? The pads keep wanting to shift. I have to really push hard on the bracket to get it to line up with the gap on the pads, basically to the point where my body weight is holding it in place while im trying to hammer the pin in.

Shouldn't be that hard. The pads should have clips on the back of them that hold them to the pistons. The caliper should slide into place on the bracket, and then the pin slides in. Remember these are just mustang cobra PBR calipers. The bracket adapting them to the spindle is custom, but the rest just follows a standard Ford install.

Not my video, but it shows the process pretty well.

I assemble the calipers on the bench.

Did you cut a block of wood that fits snug between the brake pads, so you can tap the caliper pins in with a hammer?

After switching to the hawk pads my wood doesnt fit so i need to cut a new one. Ive attached some pics of what the pads look like in the bracket at rest and when im applying pressure. Should these line up better in the bracket?

Ended up getting them together and on the rotors. The hawk pas springs were real tight and cause the bracket to bind a little. Once on the amount of play between the pads and the rotor is very minimal so I had to play with the way the caliper was alligned with the bracket. Custom cutting a block of wood to go in between the pads really helps, cant wait to try them out after all the work.
