Well I'm turning 50 in a couple weeks and for the past few months my shoulder joints have been feeling more like 70. I have always been blessed with good health so feel lucky in that respect.
I haven't been to visit a doctor but beginning to think I need to. I don't take medicines, not even aspirin. Never have needed or liked to.
Just wanted to see if the doctors or any medicines have helped anyone with such problems. I have a feeling they will tell me I have arthritis. Is their anything they can do to help? This has been slowing me down as far as getting work out the door in the shop and I feel I am nearly ready to do something about it. Just wasn't sure what.
I guess I have always had a phobia of doctors and have had good enough health to avoid them till now. But I have reached the inevitable and I am being forced to deal with my body wearing out or something.
Hoping to get a take on what has worked for some of you guys that have gone through this
ahead of me.
If my dad was still here I know what he would tell me. Be a man and quit your whining like a baby.
I guess that has always worked but the pains are getting harder to ignore.

Try Glucosomine. It can be found in the vitamin aisle of your drug/food store. It's natural supplement that will help with aches and pains. We used to give it to our dogs when they got old. It helped with their arthritis and is not a prescription drug.

Google it and read about it. I think it's something that you will not mind taking. I also don't like to take pills unless I have to....

It's worth a try before going to a doctor....

any popping noises, say while raising your arm above shoulder level? if so you may have bone spurs. had a good sized one ground out, have another one in/near the clavicle joint....stuck with it. I have a crap load of arthritis. Have been told that shots, believe they were talking about steroids, help/ Had them in my shoulder prior to getting cut open, very little relief.

Don't be surprised if the doc sends you out for therapy prior to doing anything. For one the therapists will evaluate your range of motion.

Good luck

Goog advice there Kuda, and it only has one side affect in that you may find yourself dragging your *** on the carpet.

JK:D Glucosamine is good stuff (basically a joint lubricant.)

Go see the doctor , who knows what they will find.

I thought I had arthritis in my shoulder and it ended up being a torn rotator cuff

Go see your doctor, very soon. Not doing so could kill you.

Did not do diddly squat for me. Some folks have luck with fish oil

and GO SEE A DOCTOR.....

No popping noises. Really the limiting motion is just due to the pain. Seems i don't get much done and it feels like I over worked all day. The pain is causing me to waist time during my days and it is really bothering me.
Sounds like I am gonna have to see the doctor. Just hope they can do something besides cash checks. I won't mind the expense at all if I can get back to my old self.
Just now found out as I am typing this Tammy made the appointment for me today while I was working. Apparently she's had enough of me being irritable the last couple days. Didn't even tell her about this. No getting out of it now she took over and Im going she said. Guess I better go find out the details.

Don't want to be the one to rain on you parade, so to speak. Guessing that you have been doing the same thing for a living for a while. If so, you probably have been doing quite a bit of repetitive motion. Repetitive motion will bring on all sorts of joint/tendon issues.....and once they start not much can be done to stop it....short of not doing those motions anymore. Lot of folks will tell you different but that is not my experience.

When you try Glucosomine, get the chewy kind, you absorb it better.
I think it comes in chocolate or caramel.
I am 65 pounds over my bootcamp weight (fat) and it really helps my knees/ankles when we get to where we are running 20K to 20 miles a week.
I think the hard pills are hard on your system.

Actually I had my shoulder "rebuilt" a few months ago. Could barely move it couldn't sleep on it. Some movements were a no no.
I had a torn labrum and full thickness rotator tear and some calcium deposits also. Were the same age. The surgeon reattached the torn ligaments and cleaned out the deposits from the clavicle and acromion. It was a painful recovery, but I would do it again in a NY Second over what it was like.
I would see a doctor and get an opinion of what they think and agree he will probably recommend an MRI and likely a Physical therapist.
