Does a victor 340 accept a thermoquad carburetor?

-
No, theres not enuff meat on the carb pad to carve out a TQ pattern for the butterflies to clear. I'm preety sure of this.

BUT, other intakes that take a TQ naturaly or via a little carving with a dremal are;

Edelbrocks Performer and with the dremal the LD340.
Weiands Action plus and with a dremal the Stealth.
MoPars single plane M1
Certain Offenhausers have the TQ pattern. Often listed as for a Rochester. They are expensive new, and are seldom seen used. But a capable intake they can be.

In order (I hope)

Edelbrock SP2P, great mileage getter on a bone stock engine.

Un carved and carved Edelbrock LD340

(Somebody elses) Magnum style single plane M1. It is just like the "LA" M1, minor differeances.

Edelbrock Performer

SQUAREBORE Offenhauser Port-o-sonic. They make a spreadbore version of this. So, it'll look similar. *I THINK* this can be modified.

OH! Forgot the Holley line up.

Holley STREET Dominator. Low level single plane

Holley STRIP Dominator, high rise single plane.

AND lastly, from right to left;

A W series MoPar M1 (IDK if that one is a spreadbore, most are, but there upper level heavy breathers are not a spreadbore and would caution on making mods just like the next intake, a...) , Indy's single monster single plane. And the "LA" M1.

IF you can actualy place the Victor in your hand, even at the store, have a TQ gasket in the otherhand and place it down on the carb pad to double check. There has to be some meat left over. You don't want to make a thin wall on the intake after the modifing is done.

OH, also side note, the LD340 in my garage that is modified had some welding done on it. It should have an edge like the un-modified LD340. I purchased it use this way.

Man! Cool pics. Thanks for the response. That's a big help.

Nicely done "butterfly effect" on that LD340. LOL

The Strip Dominator has to be modified to fit, right?

Do they still make the LA M1? I couldn't find it at Summit.

Your welcome.

LOL, not my work on the butterfly effect. The plenums divider was my work.

No, bolt on and....well...almost go. The valve covers needed to be notched at the runners. Not a big deal at all. You could actualy do that mod with a file in your draw, just not the wifes nail file.

Yes, they do. Perhaps, they are out of them? IDK! LOL!

Try Jegs or Manciniracing .com

If it is not allready known, I'm a fan of that pain in the *** TQ and a single plane intake. OPEN PLENUM BABY! Best $25 bucks in pig iron I ever spent.
