and...do I need it?

I pulled the timing cover off the swap cams out and noticed I did NOT have an oilslinger in my 360 (and ive heard of others who did not have them either)

I also came across copious amounts of silicon on the cover so I have reason to believe it has been tinkered with before so who's to say the last guy who worked on it didn't just forgot it and said "oh well, we don't need this"

so, question 1: does the oilsinger fit with a double roller chain installed?
and 2: do I need it?

it fit with mine and I would say yes it should have one if nothing else to keep oil from flooding the seal and seeping past

It fits with no problems, OEM double-rollers as well as aftermarket.

I like to use the oil slinger to help keep the front seal from being overloaded, especially later in life. At least it appears that it would help in that respect.

The slinger was missing from my 340/double chain, picked up a new one from Jegs $12.99 delivered.
