Ok, I have to get new tires on the front of my duster, can anybody tell me if they've come out with a tool or a good idea for removing the dog dish hubcaps off my steel wheels. The last several times I've tried this with the screwdriver and rag method, I've still scratched my wheels, and sent the dog dish flying across the garage bouncing off anything in its path. Now that my wheels are painted all nice, I don't wanna do that again. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

That's the tool I used for years in the shop. Use a side to side motion, not a pulling back/prying motion.

I'll try that, it doesn't scratch the wheel getting behind the dog dish?

i use a short craftsman bar with some 3M electrical tape on it. just a quick pop and it jumps in your lap

I've got a pry bar set that has the little plastic covers on the ends. I leave the cover on and pry like that. As far as flying aroynd the garage just pry gently and slowly. Maybe set a large towel down to cushion it if you don't catch it.
