Door mounted thermometer?

There is a guy in my area selling what has got to be the most unique yet cool accessory item I've ever seen. Has anyone seen one of these before? And what body styles and years would these have belonged on? He says they are mounted on the outside of the door and you look at them through the glass.

seen them cast into the GM side mirrors too. Thats cool that its MP branded though. That looks mid 70's to me...

I have one, I didn't know what years it was for but it a cool accessory. Mine is in almost perfect shape except I don't have the mounting bracket. I think I will list it on eBay. I wont drill any holes in my Cuda.

That Particular door thermometer is an aftermarket accessory that was sold across makes and models. Often a dealer “add-on”, they were actually universal...but had specific vehicle logos added to the face so that dealers could call them a brand specific accessory. You could buy them without a logo at many parts stores back in the day and install them yourself.

Note the 3 fins in the base vent.
