In my 'Cuda's further attempts at staying retired from the street, the door striker on driver's side has broken away from the body. The previous owner had done a really poor weld job around the striker bolt to "repair" the broken metal. I was hoping to avoid having to fix this before I got to drive the car. Does anyone know of a repair kit for this problem? It looks like the reinforcement plate behind the striker is missing. If need be I can go to wrecking yard to get the reinforcement plates, but I would prefer new ones if possible. Thanks!

I have a pair of pieces just like that from a 67. Solid. 50.00 plus shipping. Pm me if interested. Mike.

My advise...
Renew the hinges and get the door aligned proper before reworking the striker.

Basic renew service is done on the car to get the door properly aligned again.
One hinge came with bronze bushings, the other didn't. Simplest way to correct the wear in the one that didn't is to add the bushings. Replace the worn bushings in the other at the same time goes without saying.
There is a member here who restores hinges which includes servicing the little detent rollers and such if you want to go that route.
