Doors hard to close

I was having problems with the right front door closing very hard. I had to slam it way too much. I have new door seals and even with the door in bright Sun to get the seal to set it was no better. I found the door seal binding on the latch side. When I looked more found the pinch weld was too long and the seal stuck put too far. I cut 1/8 to 1/4in off the pinch weld to make the seal fit better. The door shuts much better.

Yep, the 66 I did same issue. The rubber is stiffer then original. I could not locate any better seal, so I just slammed the door....

I did not want to slam the door as hard as I had too. This has made a big difference so far.

My doors all close hard, too...I installed new weatherstrip when I bought the car.

Aaron65 I did not have these problems when I installed new door seals on my 66 wagon. Those seals seemed to set much easier then this 66 2 door.
