Hello all, I searched the forum but did not locate anything relatable. I have a 68 Barracuda with 340 small block and due to many of the forums on this site I decided to o with Dougs D453 headers. It was posted that these were pretty much plug and play with fitment for steering box and master cylinder but no mention of any modifications to headers or 727 torque flight column shift linkage.
Does anyone have experience and can shed any light on any modifications and any pictures of fitment? I am just trying to prepare the best I can before I get my engine back from the rebuilder and minimize time to install. Any help would be appreciated.
I checked with Petronix but all they could tell me was that they would work with column shift (Even though it says different on their website) but could not tall me if anything needed to be done to make that happen.
Thank you in advance.

Did you check their website? Fitment information
Yes I did. There was nothing concerning linkage. I know it looks pretty tight between linkage and torsion bar for the header to fit between so just trying to confirm it is good or make the mods now. Thanks

TTI may be a better choice
10. COLUMN SHIFT:
YES
• Some application may require modification to the shift linkage to achieve column shift clearance. TTi does not make a linkage to satisfy this situation.

or if you're adamant about using Dougs, check the installation instructions from TTI and apply those required linkage mods to fit your Dougs. Can't get any clearer than that.

Thank you, I did check the TTI instructions and they only showed floor shifter linkage needed to be modified. I guess I wont know until install.

It may be a simple mod or one you'll wish you didn't attempt. Bending shift linkages from the way they're meant to work may bring more problems and you may understand why TTI doesn't offer them.
