Driver Side Manifold-to-block bracket?

What years did these come on, and what exactly did they help with?
Post 96 below for those wondering what they look like. My 318 has them missing currently.

I have them on my 64 valiant 273

First time I ever saw those. Only reason I can think for them is they might help to stabilize the exhaust manifold since it is pretty big and bulky.

I think they only came on 3 years, 64-66 early a-bodies with a 273 engine, my dads 1966 Cuda has them too.

Were definitely not on my CA 65 "S". Those crimped rounded bars dont even look period correct when the trans to block braces were almost angle iron. But I do have that 3rd bolt boss on the manifold...?
