Driveshaft Length

Can anyone tell me if the driveshaft is the same length whether you are using an 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear axle. If not, what's the difference in measurement? Thanks.....

Measure twice cut once.

The parts books have dimensions based on car, rear and transmission

But the best thing to do is get it installed and setting on it's tires and measure. Then if the factory books agree you're golden.

Not the same. Axle centerline to center of yoke is:

8 1/4 11.70”
8 3/4 12.35”

so the driveshaft is .65“ different.
