Hi guys and gals. I have a 70 duster and am looking for pic's of some dusters with 14 inch stock rallye wheels with a bit more rubber out back. I have the stock 195/70's all the way around and am thinking of possibly soemthin in the order of 245/70/14 or 235/60/14 out back with something a bit smaller in front. Any pics with the tire size listed would be awesome as I need to see some different looks. Thanks!

245-60-14 is biggest 14 inch radial
My 73 had 205-70-14 up front and 245-60-14 out back I will put them back on and get you a pic.

roadrunnerh....those are stock 5.5 width rallyes correct? Also what size are the fronts?

71, 73 I'll get the sizes later for you.

Will a 235/60R14 fit on a stock 5.5" rallye?

(I'm planning on getting 205-70-14 / 235-60-14 on 5.5" rallyes.)

that may be a bit big and may have a very big bulged sidewall. RoadrunnerH where did you get the 14 x 7's?

OK, then I hope you don't mind me asking this, because it plays directly into your original question in the first post... you said you were planning on 235 or 245 in back on stock rallye 14" rallye rims. So...

Anyone know what the largest width tire will reasonably fit on a 5.5" rallye?

OK, I may have at least partially answered my own question:

Taking the '68 GTS as an example, as it came stock with 5.5" steel wheels, it was originally specced from the factory with E70-14 bias-ply tires. This converts, according to what I found, to 215-60 radial. Again, this is just info I found on the internets, which of course is always "right".

So, would it be true that about the largest tire that should be put on a 5.5" wheel is a 215-60? Anyone want to chime in on this?

Hoping this will help the OP (and myself as well). Either of us could then go with 215-60 max on the 5.5"'s, or seek out 7" wide wheels for the back.

Thanks all.

I bought them from Summit. $94 apiece.
When I purchased my used 14x5.5, they had worn 235/60R14's on them.
They looked ok, but I don't think it was the safest fit.

I think tirerack actually has size charts that will tell the tire dimensions and the size wheel they recommend fitting without any issues as well.

I am running 235/60/14 on factory 14x5.5 rallyes on my Demon..

Pics.
