I put my 74 Duster on a certified scale today, 3230 lbs. That's 10 lbs. lighter than my Scamp & the Duster has Power steering/brakes a 727 and giant 15" wheels ! (Manual steering/brakes/904/ & 14's on the Scamp) I guess that extra wheelbase makes the diff.

WTH im confused if ur 74 is 3230 my 73 should be like 200 pounds lighter

Somehow on an NHRA cert. scale it weighed in at 3137lbs with me in it, had full tank of gas minus 1 pass so w/e that is. It's a basic small block (had an iron intake at the time) p/s mdb, stock radio in dash to fill a hole, no speakers, it was a southern car so no undercoating and very little sound deadener in it, had 15" alu wheels and is a 727 8 3/4 combo. I weigh about 200lbs.

:read2: I always have my cars weighed at the same scale, here are some previous cars of mine, all were weighed without me in the car & usually less than 1/4 tank of fuel. I always keep the printed weight card, I'm weird like that.
1970 dodge coronet coupe 318/904/8-1/4. = 3330 lbs.
same car after 440/727/8-3/4 swap. = 3670 lbs.
1975 Datsun 280Z = 2650 lbs.
2002 Mustang coupe V-6 = 3680 lbs. !
1996 Plymouth neon base coupe = 2440 lbs.
1973 Scamp 318/904/8-3/4 = 3240 lbs.
1967 Dodge Dart 340/4-spd/8-3/4 = 3150 lbs.
1990 Dodge Daytona competition special 2.5 turbo 5-spd = 2910 lbs.
1978 Chrysler Cordoba 400/727/ 8-3/4 = 4340 lbs.
1984 Dodge Ram 50 with 318/904 swap= 2740 lbs.

what kind of scale is it? I would trust a NHRA scale but I really want to weigh mine

I don't know the maker of the scale but, I know the owner, It's in a steel yard near where I live. He used to scrap out cars there, but the EPA came in & shut him down, now he only does scrap steel. one time about 15 years ago, I found a "Coyote Duster" air cleaner lid lying upside down half covered with mud, he charged me 75 cents, I could hardly hold back my huge grin as I walked out.

ha nice..man if your car weighs that..you need to weigh someones 73 they are suppose to be lighter

A lot of Truck stops will have state certified scales too, but they will charge you. (5 bucks or so)

My 72 Demon, 360/727/8 3/4, standard steering and brakes, 1/2 tank of gas and spare tire weighed 3102 without me in it.

Thats realy good.

My 70 Dart 340/A833/8 3/4 no options car, bench seat, full size rally spare, full tank of gas with out me in it was 3330 pounds.

I got my Scamp down to 3036# with a full tank. Not to bad for a street and drag car.

Check your phone book and see if you have a transfer company or some bigger moving companies have scales. I worked at a Transfer & Storage company that had a scale for industrial moving jobs, truckers were always using it and it was certified within 5lbs accuracy.

Now I'm wondering why my car is so light lol most of your cars are more empty than mine with me in it wtf?

Weighed my '69 Bee at the local grain elevator. With a 1/4 tank of gas and an all iron 440 she tipped the scales at a hefty 3,740. No wonder it takes a 440 to get it moving.

weighed my 71 duster, 340, 727, 73 disc brakes, full interior, 17" rims, 8-3/4, me NOT in her, almost empty tank.

3200

Aloha

Mine comes in at 2850..no back seat, glass hood, racing seats, 360, 727, 8 3/4, manual stearing and brakes, 1/4 tank of gas. Weighed it at the track.

My 73 340 Duster with buckets, console, PS, Stroker with Aluminum heads and intake, 727, Dana Rear, 3" exhaust out the back front sway, 17" Aluminum wheels, rear disks with Cordoba front disks, spare, sub-box and 1/2 tank of gas was 3410 lbs, without me in it. Dana added what the heads and intake lost, Front disks added what the rear disks took off, manual brakes took off about what the 3" exhaust added. Speaker box is about 50 lbs. I read somewhere that a 73 weighed aroun 3350, som I am right there.

I weighed my 71 Duster, 360, 3-speed manual, 8 3/4 rear at 2 different truck stops. Got the same weight - 3080#. Then I pulled the 360 and converted the car to electric. Now it weighs over 4000# LOL.

Mine weighs in at 3700 with me in it. (I weigh 240) This car is heavy but it still has AC, wipers, heater, windows, carpet with pad, complete interior (minus back seat) and 8 point cage. All that and still jerks the front wheels with 3.73 gears.

My title for the '74 Duster w/a/6, AC/ps/pb is listed at 2830. I'll have to assume empty. Hummmmmm

Nice shot crazy!

My 73 came in at 3300# with out me in it. Thats with a half a
tank of gas. Stock tank. Full interior, buckets and factory
console. Stock rallye wheels. I have run a best of 12.93 with
just the back seat removed.

Weighed my Stock 72 Duster today... a lot lighter than I thought it would be. Didn't get the F/R weights but hope to soon.

#3340

with #170 me, #30 backpack (school books... What can I say), PS, AC, two bench seats, 318, auto, Drums, full interior, spare tire, airtank (about #18), and 3/4 tank of gas.
