I read somewhere using an e-body tank is a good way to get some extra room for routing tailpipes in an early A. I'm curious who's done this and what considerations there are before we go down that rabbit hole on my sons 65 Valiant.

The E body tank does not have the big indention or cut out for spare tire well in trunk floor. Also a rear fill. It would not be a bolt in situation for sure.

Challenger (e-body) has the filler in the side, but still no cut out for the spare tire, you're still correct my thinking was wrong.

I tend to forget Challenger. Fill is right/passenger side. And yes, no cut out.

I'm going to use the front to back later style straps on my 65 Barracuda. I already figured out how to make them work. I'll figure out the bigger fill tube thing when I get that far. I had a 25 gallon aluminum tank made for my 70 Duster when I was in the Gen 3 Hemi mood. I was going to ditch the spare tire hole and have a flat trunk floor. Ditched the Gen 3 stuff and still have that custom tank laying around, but I don't want to use it in the Barracuda because it doesn't have a huge trunk like the Duster.
