E-brake cable grommet

installing a new E-brake cable firewall grommet on a 70 dart. I bought the new grommet from year one. Has anybody done one if so where do the three tabs go on the inside or outside of the fire wall? and do they bend around the cable or the firewall.

On my 71 Duster, the three tabs point forward into the engine compartment and fold over the firewall sheet metal.
