looking for a head light / dash dimmer switch for a 1971 340 demon. When i turned it it seems to just work on a small band of travel, barely can see the dash lights. :burnout:

Yours is probably bad or corroded. It's just a big ole rheostat, better known as a variable resistor so it's going to create heat when you dim down. You might try hitting it with some WD-40 to see what happens. It may start working again.
