Earlier 318 timing cover seal

We have a 1967 318 where the seal installs from the inside. It appears that all the available replacement seals are the later style. Clearly different. It seems like it will fit, but its not quite right. Please advise.
 
The correct seal is available.

Look in a 67 parts book (mymopar.com) and get the OEM part number then google that number.

Is your 318 a poly or an LA
 

Its an LA. That is an excellent resource. It shows the seal as a 2536 694, which crosses over to a Timken 3103, which is the same for pretty much every mopar. Looks different, still fits. I think

The closest replacement to the original style I have found is the SS3146 SCHAEFFLER. Looks a lot easier to install in the early timing cover.

They all seem to fit ok.....at least all the ones I've used.....mostly I use the ones in the FelPro gasket sets.
