Did a part 2 video on this . Finally solved the issue I was having with early to mid 60s for the 7-1/4 rear end axle shaft seals . found out though much internet searching and measurements since O'reallys said that the axle seals are not available that the axle seals for a 1965 Ford Falcon 9"rear axle fits the 7-1/4 axles and housing tubes. the only differnt is the width on the metal shell . its a couple of hairs narrower then the Mopar ones . precision bearings & seals part # 9569S I imagine standard seals or Timken has same seals with different part number . hope this helps people .

Possible benifit to it being narrower....

If it installed to a positive stop, the sealing surfaces now rides on a slightly different part of the axle shaft seal surface.

What year are you searching for?

Tapered axle?

Found this, but it doesn't say which specific axle. Says fits 64 dart with slant 6 up engine?

The original Chrysler # is 2404052 for 1963 thru 1969 abodies. Many on eBay, both original Chrysler and aftermarket. Also you can search 2404052 on rockauto.

I know this is an old thread but just starting to search for replacement seal for a 7 1/4 rear end and seals/bearings for axle shaft. I have a 68 318 cuda convertible.

Oreilly has them plenty available. The problem is, their system calls them wheel seals. You go in asking for axle seals and they're not in the system.

9" brakes SEAL
10" brakes SEAL

OK, thanks. So we are in the same page. I do want to replace my axle seals as well, and maybe even the bearings but what I am talking about is the seal on the end of the differential where the drive shaft meets the rear axle. Any chance you have part numbers?

Now that's what it shows for MY car. 1964 Valiant. 7.25. You'll have to research it to see if it's the same for yours.

You have installed the 9569S and are confident they are sealing well?? Seals are proving hard to find!! Thanks for doing the research.
