Early Duster front bumper with '73 Grille?

So I was wondering if I cut the bottom of the filler panel/lower grille support on my '73 where the hole is stamped out if I could tuck an early bumper under the stock '73 grille?

Anyone ever try this? Does it make the front of the car look cleaner or does the mismatch between the grille and bumper make it look funny? I googled it like crazy already to no avail.

I think it would look funny, kinda buck toothed.

There was somebody a while back I'm the restoration section that had a 73 duster with a 72 boer on it.
It actually looked good

That's what I was worried about, too. But at the same time I like the '73 hood with the scoop in the center panel, and I did black out the plastic part of my grille already which would hopefully make it stand out less, so idk.

Hmmmmm, I'll have to search when I am finished with all 120+ pages of the '73 pro-touring thread. Or hopefully that person sees this thread and chimes in.

My other thought was keeping the top part of the grille with the Plymouth stamping and then making a 70's style tube grille, but that might look worse.

I simply swapped out the Hood, Lower valance, latch support and bumper. There's really no way to just swap a few parts and have everything look correct.
