I bought a carter four barrel for my 340 and assumed I would have a choke on my M1 intake. Guess i was wrong. Has anybody ran into this situation? Would like to have a electric choke on the carb since there is no where to put one on the intake. The carb is a 6212s 3295 with a date of 1967 on it. I assume it is a AVS I want to be able to drive this car with out having to wait for the engine to warm up to full operating temp. Appreciate any advice.

It is possible to add an electric choke to the carb. But, you may not like it so much. A mild mod can be done with the use of a Edelbrock/Carter Electric choke. It will bolt on.Perhaps you may to drill and tap where it gets mounted to on the side of the carb.

Is adding a manual cable out of the question?

Where are you located? I do not know of anyplace called Capac.

......U asked 4 advice, just offered some.......Well then maybe u shouldnt assume anything.........sell the 1 u bought, then buy 1 with an electric choke........btw ur carb is a marine carb....can u post a pic.......kim...........
