Electrical Issue

So I discoved the other night that my electrical system isn't quite working great. The lights and everything are great when I'm moving but sitting at a light or idling everything dims down. If I have a blinker on the alternator whines and the meter jumps up and down. Is this a bad alternator or is there something I'm missing?

Very common problem, with many posts. Yes, you are missing the "search" feature of this forum. Don't waste your time and money changing the alternator unless you can prove it is bad first. If you put in a higher amp alternator, you will melt your bulkhead connector faster.
