So for many of us, the season up northeast is pretty much over unless you travel south in the next month or so. I was going to hit Mason Dixon next weekend but I forgot I work next weekend, so my season is over. We ended the season at Keystone Raceway Park's Ghost Goblins and Gearheads race last weekend. Most fun race of the season. Our whole team was there, stayed all weekend, and it was great. Saturday, I was double entered, carried both entries to the 4th round. Lost one entry, then 5th round lost the other entry. Car was doing great til turnaround time got really short. When I say really short I am talking 6 minutes between runs. Car did not like that at all, started doing dumb stuff and bouncing around pretty substantial on ET. So note to self, NO MORE DOUBLE ENTRIES. Now for the winter, we have A LOT of work scheduled. We have 2 engines that need finished, one is 95% done, just waiting on pushrods. The other we are waiting on pistons, then balance, then assembly. We then have 4 more engines that are in the shoot this winter. As far as transmissions, I have a 727 that needs completed, and two powerglides that need freshened so far. I am sure more transmissions will trickle in but that is what is scheduled as of now.
Saturday, I am pulling the engine out of my car and storing it inside for the winter. I am putting a peterson remote oil filter primer pump on the car so I will remove the pan so a fitting can be welded in. Come next year it will just be mount the pump, run lines, and hook it all up. My dad's Roadrunner is getting valve springs this winter. Need to wire my friend's Cuda after me and Tim get his engine finished. And my Uncle wants to get his 500" engine done for his 71 Roadrunner. So like I said, extremely busy winter. But it will help keep things rolling and hopefully keep seasonal depression down.
