Congratulations to 'Back in Time' (FABO) for winning the initial NHRA "Pick 'Em" game Top Qualifier title of the 2026 season with a very nice total of 26.0 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel, the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle, the #5 qualifier in Funny Car and the #6 qualifier in Pro Stock.
'ocdart' (FABO) was right behind with 24.5 bonus points.

* 8 different Top Fuel drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #6 qualifier Doug Kalitta (5 picks) and #11 qualifier Justin Ashley (3 picks). There is a possibility of three head-to-head matchups in Round 2 if all six drivers survive Round 1.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers survive Round 1. One Funny Car driver pick (6 picks) did not qualify for Sunday eliminations.

Please post your picks before Pro Stock qualifying starts so you will be eligible for all event bonus points. The first of the scheduled four rounds of Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 12:30pm EDT (9:30am PDT) on Friday.
This is only the second race event of the season but we are going to have our first short field because nhra.com currently shows the following entries:

17 Funny Car
20 Pro Stock

The weekend weather forecast shows no chance of rain:
* Friday forecast is for sun and 84F when Pro qualifying starts at 9:30am local time, and 93F when Q2 starts at Noon local time. The forecast high of 102F should hit in late afternoon.
* Saturday shows more sun and 85F for the start of Q3 at 10:00am local time, and 96F for the start of Q4. The forecast high for Saturday is also 102F.
* Sunday forecast shows sun and 84F for the start of eliminations with temps climbing to a high of 101F in late afternoon
The current television schedule for the Arizona Nationals...
* Qualifying Show 1: 10:00pm-Midnight EDT (7:00-9:00pm PDT), Friday, March 20 on FS1

Man, I should be going to this one. I’m only an hour away from the place. I haven’t been there in years.
I honestly do like the coverage on TV although it’s nice to smell nitro once in a while these damn cars are like, dam man I haven’t been to a lot of NHRA events but they are damn loud and shake you ha ha ha ha it’s like an uncontrollable vibration for like five seconds brrrrmmm
The last time I went to the Phoenix, Arizona nationals, Britney force set a record which she did that a lot of tracks I know right.
And I definitely like to see eliminations on Sunday, so what’s the better day Friday or Saturday or Sunday?

A few of us from Inland Mopars go to Pomona for both the Winternationals and the World Finals.
Our favorite day is Friday because we get to see everyone run in two qualifying runs and the attendance is the lowest of the weekend.
First Arizona Nationals Q1 Pro Stock run at 12:45pm EDT (9:45am local time and PDT).
Event driver picks are closed.
BTW, In-N-Out Burger owner Lynsi Synder-Ellingson is racing at the Arizona Nationals in Top Sportsman. She ran a 6.628 @ 208.17 in Q1.

@memike, I initially posted the picks mentioned in your Post #36 for the Arizona Nationals.
I will change them to your picks in Post #49, but neither your revised Funny Car and Pro Stock picks will be eligible for event bonus points since they were posted after Qualifying began.
Your Top Fuel pick is the same in both Post #36 and Post #49 so it will remain eligible for event bonus points.
