Okay, I had a 318 given to me. The block is clearly stamped 318, but with a block code that I think reads 2506080. Does this code mean anything or is this the production number? I ask because it has a four barrel intake on it. It's a factory chrysler intake but almost looks to big for the 318. The other side I believe has a date code. Like 3-24-72. I'm guessing that's the production date. Can anyone point me where to look or does the block code not mean anything for heads and intake?

It's possible, there is a lot of dirt and mud packed into the numbers. I was scraping at it but some was stuck pretty good.

I did the smart thing and looked up casting on the intake... makes more sense right. Turns out to be a 340-4 intake from a 73. Thanks again for the help guys.

The 340/360 intakes even as they're getting harder to find still tend to be readily available for $25+ less than mediocre used aluminum intakes go for, so they're still a popular choice converting to 4bbl even on a 318.
