I have a 65 Dart with a 69 273 block. The block has no VIN stamp so I'm guessing it was a warranty replacement.

I'm looking for a 65 block and I'm wondering what sort of casting date would be right for a car built on 6/18/65.

Many years ago I restored a 65 Corvette and there was data available from a guy named Nolan Adams who surveyed owners about vin number and block casting dates. I seem to recall that it was only about 2 weeks from when the block was cast, until it was installed in a car.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what was going on at Chrysler in 1965. Or if someone could let me know their car build date and engine casting and/or assembly date for comparison.

Engine blocks can be found up to 4 month prior to assembly date. Same with the rest like intake, waterpump, distributor and carburator.

The casting date, the engine assembly date and the car build date are widely varied.

Hemis could be up to 2 years old before they were assembled.
