Engine Swap??

Hello my daugther smashed her 99 durango last week it has a 5.2 in it good motor, trans, and transfer case. I found a 2002 durango 4.7 with a blown motor, body in nice shape for a 1000.00 bucks will her drivetrain fit in it? Or it more work then its worth?ex-change computer,wireharness? thanks for any info Gene. :help::help:

I would go to ebay and reseach key parts between vehicle and drive train, like radiator, electric fuel pimp, trans support, etc.. and see if the application chart fits both year models and engine c.i.d. That should provide a clue at least.
I'm thinking the e.c.m.and some of the wiring would be different.

Way more work than I would want to do. The engines, transmissions, transfer cases, axle shafts, computers, wiring harnesses, etc. are different between those two models so everything would have to be adapted or swapped complete. As a whole drivetrain swap, who knows, it might not be too bad but what if it is? Are you prepared to custom build parts to make them fit?
