I was looking to buy some ESPO springs and ran across this:

PLEASE NOTE: We are not going out of business. We are just not restocking leaf springs as we run out due to them being heavy, labor intensive, rising costs and not being able to keep up anymore due to our ages.

WTF? Anyone have a good alternative? I'm trying to buy springs with a 1" longer front segment to center my wheels/tires in the quarter panel opening.

Best bet is to call them and see what they have left. I believe I ordered the last set of A body +1” rears from them in December.

Sounds to me like they're just not going to stock springs in quantity like they used to- they're just going to a built-to-order format. Can't blame them.
CALL them to clarify- I'm sure you can still get whatever you want, there just may be a waiting period while they're drop-shipped from the manufacturer.

That tracks with their response today:

Hi Charles,

Sorry we don't have any springs 1" longer front segment. We don't even have the stock length ones for this car anymore since springs are being discontinued as we run out of inventory to do them. I hope you can find someone that can do them. Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations since we haven't dealt with any of the companies out there that are now making springs.

Summit Racing has the Hotchkis Sport Suspension Leaf Springs 24385WH for $350 before tax, 130in/lbs. These are not the full kit, that is $700. The 24385WH only comes with rubber bushings installed in the front eyes for 1/2 in bolt, no rear bushings, no U bolts and no front hangers.

Other 130 in/lbs options:
Eaton Detroit Springs $900 before shipping/tax?
Dayton Parts $400 at generalspringkc.com and $359 at Truckspring.com before shipping/tax

Thanks for the potential sources. The Summit/Hotchkis springs won't work as I need an additional 1" in the front segment (i.e. front to back). These are stock length segments. Same for the Dayton Parts. I have an email in to Michigan Truck Springs as their price is more reasonable than Eaton. If MTS falls thru, I may have to spring (no pun intended) for the Eatons.

If push comes to shove, could you fab some front spring hangers with the additional 1" built into them?

True dat. In fact, that's most economic way to go. Since the springs have been moved into the frame rails, it would only require 4 new holes. I haven't measured for/ordered the driveshaft yet so there is no problem lengthening that. Good call.

Thanks for all the responses.

Here's the response from Michigan Truck Springs:

Unfortunately we do not make springs here. I will give you a phone number of a place in Zanesville, Ohio that makes springs. 740-452-9256.

Thanks, Mike
