Ever gotten money back from a machine shop?

That's funny. You do so much porting work that it turns into a thin piece of aluminum foil LOL maybe instead of all that porting you can just push luminum foil over the top of it and make a template?

The problem is when you port the intake, the bolts are strong enough but the manifold isn't.

Don't ask how I know. It's a bunch of welding to fix it. When I port an intake I make sure I write on the receipt do not pick up engine by intake manifold.

Depends on the application and the intake.

Sometimes you can't get them big enough. At this point, I wish I would have done more welding on mine. My first calculations said I could squeak by, but in the end, I made it thin. Next one, I'll weld it up a bunch more before grinding.
