Excellent idea happy wife happy life eh ! When I was married and living in Windsor and Lansing at the same time the rate was between $1.40 to $1.50 to buy US with Cdn but Casino Windsor was buying US at $1.65 wife and I used to take turns running in with a few hundred at a time US cash then run to the Royal Bank on Oullette at buy for the rate then run back again LOL . We could get 2 or 3 trips each in before security would say enough , we'd make 4-5 hundred Cdn by then and enjoy a free weekend at a hotel with room service . Paid for her trips 2 or 3 times a month for like 4 years that way .

You bet! I was recently able to earn my Wife a ****-ton of AirMiles and all I had to do was throw a 408 in the Duster.
And yes, she is worth it!!

You can bring in ANY AMOUNT you like, just need to tell them ...if its over 10k.
Then they "may" ask you to prove its legit, where did you get it from. i.e. if YOU SHOW ONLINE FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT THAT YOU HAD THE MONEY IN THE BANK PRIOR TO COMING INTO CANADA IT'S A DONE DEAL FOR YOU. NO MORE QUESTIONS ASKED.
I CAME WITH (MUCH MORE) THAN THE REQUIRED AMOUNT IN USD AND I HAD DECLARED IT, WHEN THEY SAW IT, THEY THOUGHT IT WAS 8K and he said to me, it's ok 8 grand is not a prerequisite to/for declaration. Whereas I told him he was off by a Zero and that's when he realized it was (80k) ..subsequently I was brought right passed everyone (lol) to the back where two young gentleman asked where was the money coming from and if it was mine.
It was USD as I stated , I said I sold a house and brought some cash back and I left the rest in the bank (From the Country I had sold the house) They asked me can you show us that you had it in a bank account ? I said yes, opened up my tablet logged on to my bank acc't. and they told me have a nice day. That's it.
Like he said, it's mainly for drug money that they ask, if you can prove, show it was in a BANK ACCOUNT before it was taken out, your problems are solved.
Also, if anyone has USD (under) 10 k and wants to come to Canada I will buy it from them, no need to go to a Bank, $ Exchange, etc..Reach me here.
This is for the North East but if its worth my time and yours I can come just about anywhere, lol
