I have bucket seats and want more legroom. My 72 Duster 340 has a 4 speed and it’s nearly impossible to shift into reverse. My knee is up against the steering wheel and shifter. I’m 6’4” and want to move the seat back 4”. Has anyone made or used anything that works? I have seen aftermarket brackets for Mustangs.
Any help is appreciated.

You can get them from Year One for about $40. But after looking at what you get, you can make them yourself for about $10
I plan on doing the same with the buckets in the Valiant. Just need about 2-3'' more, and will have much more comfort.

So... the factory seat tracks have a series of square holes punched through. They swedged square shoulder studs in what was the predetermined location so factory workers wouldn't need to get a wrench under there. Get those studs out and replace them with carriage bolts or hex heads requiring the wrench. I don't think you'll get 4 inches from their holes though.
