EZ Car Lift

I don't but "what I don't like" about those is they depend completely on the integrity and strength of your floor / pad to operate.

i know lots of guys that use them and they are fine but have a few caveats.
probably find them on e bay for 1200 - 1300 hundred and 500 - 600 used

I went with one of these (MaxJax) for my low ceiling 8-9' garage, portable as well!

^^^ Absolutely would go with the Mid-Rise Lift or Scissor Lift from Greg Smith Equip. over the E-Z carlift or the MaxJax. It has an actual safety locking system to it. Not just a steel rod through a hole to keep it from dropping. Also the unit is more portable so you can use it anywhere there is sufficient concrete floor to work. It doesn't need to be bolted down.
Less $$ too!

Meanwhile, LMAO check out this chicken leg, spindley P.O.S on the Road to Ruin

Wow, there are some scary looking lifts out there, I like the scissor style too, but they don't leave you an opening in the middle for exhaust, or transmission work. The quickjack doesn't look too bad as far as leaving room to work, but not quite high enough for my liking

These particular ones are poorly designed (should not need a jack and they are too short) but I like the idea of portable, and sectioned to ease moving. You could take some ideas from this. If I was younger and didn't already have a two post, something like these might work

Best thing to do is get American made. Either Rotary or Mohawk. Those are the only two I know for sure are still 100% made in USA. There may be others.

There's another thread about these

Thats alot of money for the EZ lift. Tax and shipping 2 grand. I see why the chicken leg POS lift is time lapse. It takes all morning to lift your car, one corner at a time, 4 inches at a time. Maybe by lunchtime it will be high enough to change the oil. Seriously, who would go through all that every time they needed to get under their car? Looks like great fun too! I guess you get on your knees if you are over 5 feet tall. I love Rube Goldberg devices. That is the most messed up design ever.

FYI... BackYard Buddy 4-Post lift. Made in Ohio by Americans with American Steel.

I don't care for it either. If I still have to lie on my back on a creeper, then why would I want to spend that kind of money to do it? For an extra $1K I'll just get a 2 post lift. Since I can't afford either, I"ll stick with my jacks and jack stands.
