F5 Duster

-
wow 5.38 gears, I have 4.88 in mine and I thought those were steep.

Any progress? Itching to see a Duster in the new B5 so I can decide easier on if I wanna paint mine B5 or not.

I actually just started back on it. A few things have changed since I last logged in. First I decided to tackle the paint and body after getting sticker shocked. Blocking it now but I don't see paint anytime soon.

Oh, here's a picture that might help you 75slant6. It sold me on the color, paint code is PQD.

Good luck with the rest of the build. Just curious, what was the quote for the paint if you don't mind me asking

He hit me with a soft $5000. I thought that didn't seem too bad. It took longer to get the metal done so a friend took my spot and his finished at $6000 for an outside job, no panel alignment. I was looking at something between 6/10 I would guess. He wouldn't give a hard number, and the guy that finished at $6000 was quoted around $4000.

WOW!!!! For that kind of money I'll do my own body and paint work as well!!

Exactly! I got some friends that can bail me out if I get in trouble too.
Great example of a rotisserie paint job, harbor freight paint gun and eastwood paint.

Engine changes, the plan was to use a Rod Bloomer kit to build a 420ci. I settled on a scat 4" kit for a 414ci because I'm gonna use a regular block.
Block and rotating assembly is at the machine shop, heads and intake on the way to the porter. A few highlights, Scat 4" forged steel crank, scat h beam rods, icon forged flat tops. Victor w2 intake, open chamber 2.05 w2's. After they get worked on and I will post numbers.
