I see flexalite has a controller that will ad power to a fan as heat increases. will this work with any electric fan? or do most fans require full voltage?

Not positive, but I think all radiator fans are simple brushed DC motors, in which case one can vary the applied voltage to change the speed, so it should work with any fan. I think the variable-speed controllers switch the current on & off very fast, so that the average current is controlled. The motor could fry if it stalled, but that is almost impossible as long as the fan doesn't jam mechanically.
