I'd like to add a fast idle solenoid to my Super Six. What I mean here is to bump the idle up slightly when the a/c kicks on. Does anyone know where to get one?
It's a BBD carb

You would be best to start a Parts Wanted thread. I don't believe anyone would make one. They do have to be pretty specific to your application.

Don't know about that, if you are handy and can fabricate. Even Ford used them back in the day, etc.

The trouble isn't finding a solenoid, the trouble is finding an appropriate bracket! The one bolted to the front of an '81-'84 318 BBD ought to suit.

I've wondered about doing this to my Valiant but it seemed like an issue with a 1920 Economaster. There's basically no time I won't use AC from May through September so I plan to just adjust the idle up a bit and bring it back down in the cool season.

I just got done making a bracket for an idle up solenoid for my 225 with a 1920. Two pieces of 1/8"x2" flat bar, one weld, and a some grinding to clearance for linkage. Took about 1/2 hour

Also, many guys don't realize, that most those solenoids will but "kick up" the idle by itself. With the AC on, you usually have to have the pedal down a ways, and when it idles down, the solenoid will hold the thing "up." Some solenoids may be stronger than others

Why someone doesn't make one that is actually strong enough to kick up the idle by itself boggles my mind. Ive searched and searched but can't find one yet.
