just a word of caution...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290385889088

The seller claims it "has the original numbers matching 273 engine as far as we can tell." I wrote to tell him his photo shows the style and color of a 1970s 318, and that he might want to alert potential buyers. Seller acknowledged, but no change in the ad, as of yet.

The buy-it-now price of $2750 might be an OK deal, though I'm not convinced it's the steal he/she thinks it is. Really now, "the glass alone is worth the price"? Sheesh.

No such thing as numbers matching before 68. Period.

Looks like a 70-up engine with a badly hacked alternator mount. And the radiator is definitely mid to late 70's.

Looks like a fairly complete shell and fair starting point. Worth every bit of $1500.
