Was in a salvage yard almost 20 years ago, and ran across a St Regis/Fury that had FOUR fender tags
(along with a cherry Duster roof panel that they cut off for me for $50, but I digress......)
From the outside, it looked like your grandma's "Go to Church" car.......but looking at the car, it had about every "police" option available (HD package stuff, 360-4, big alternator, front/rear sway bars, big discs, big drums out back, 9 1/4 rear, certified speedo, etc). As this salvage yard was just north of the state capital, I suspected that this was an ex-Highway Patrol car assigned to the "Capital Police" division, to haul VIPs around.
Anyhoo.......three of the tags were full with option codes. Tag #4 only said "PREP LINE". (I scarfed this one, and it currently resides with the fender tag on my current car.) So......what does "PREP LINE" mean? Special Handling? Press car? Or POS, that needs rework before loading it on the transporter?
