Filler Vent Tube

My 67 Valiant didn't have the filler vent tube hooked up to anything. The trunk smelled of gas so i stuck a hose on the line and plugged it. That helped the smell, but where is the vent supppsed to go??

I am not positive but back to the tank.

On my 66' it goes back out the trunk floor towards the gas tank but isn't hooked to anything so it can vent outside

I was thinking that, but i dont see a hole or anything through the trunk floor seal

I just took my tank out to replace so I just looked at it, but didn't have to deal with any of that so not sure where it comes out exactly, but if I recall almost right next to the filler tube.

It exits right against the filler tube through the floor seal, then just vents to the ground
